Abundant thanks to the people whose enthusiasm and assistance helped to make my ramblings decipherable. First and foremost was my beautiful wife Sharon—the taskmaster. Her metronomic reminders and her red pencil suppressed my ego and kept me writing.
Editorial tweaks, corrections and revisions were most dearly appreciated, particularly by Laurie Gibson and James Alsup. Unswerving encouragement by Bob Therrien, Larry Miller, Bill O’Connor and Randy Kent was sincerely valued.
My loyal friends from Las Vegas, some of whom actually worked at the Yucca Mountain project (see photo below), include Rico DiFulvio, Judie Reitan, and Gary Snodgrass. Special thanks to my Las Vegas emissary “Big Bruce” Chapman.
Finally, I’d like to thank my God, my Country, and my Corps for the honor to serve in the places I’ve been, so that I may unpack the stories that have accumulated in my mind and share them with you.
